We're approved in Brazil

CO2Sustain’s patented liquid additive has now received regulatory approval from the Agencia Nacional de Vililancia Sanitara (ANVISA) for use in carbonated soft drinks. ANVISA is the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency.
Brazil, a founding member of Mercosur, has now adopted the approval granted by Mercosur. Mercosur is the Southern Common Market made of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela (although Venezuela was suspended 2016). There are also a number of associated states which includes Boliva, Chile, Colombia amongst others.
It is up to each member state to adopt Mercosur’s approval of CO2Sustain at a local level and we are confident that other member states will follow Brazil’s lead soon.
Brazil is a key territory for CO2Sustain and will help expand our presence in the valuable Latin American carbonated soft drinks market. In 2023 revenue for this sector in Brazil amounted to $8.97bn with volume expected to grow to 10.3bn litres per annum by 2027.
This ANVISA approval will allow Brazil’s carbonated soft drinks manufacturers to benefit from using CO2Sustain’s patented technology to keep their drinks fizzier for longer.
The technology works particularly well in hot climates where carbonation is lost more rapidly and where drinks are often poured warm over ice. CO2Sustain works by coating the bubbles in a drink as the drink is opened, keeping them smaller and stronger for longer. Drinks therefore remain, and more importantly, taste fizzier for longer which is essential when a cool refreshing drink is needed on a hot day.
